  1. Hey, I wanted to know if there was a way to get my hands on the engine? Because my friends and I have been trying to find an engine to make a game.

  2. Hey!
First of all I wanted to say the game is absolutely awesome.

I have a question for you though, as a game developer:
One of my dreams for many years has been to create a 3D game engine of my own in order to understand all the things that are needed for one.
I make educational games using JavaScript for a living using a proprietary engine, which is a great start but won’t take me where I want to be..
When I see people who made their games using an existing engine I think to myself “oh, well this guy just wants to make games”. However I can’t put you in that same box because you’re using Unity to build your own engine.

What are your motivations for this? Have you ever actually made an engine from scratch?
I’d really like to hear more from you about this.

    • I’ve made game engines from scratch in the past as well but I wanted to have a voxel engine that was platform independent for desktop as well as mobile solutions.

It can be somewhat of a pain at times not having full control over the engine but on the other hand you also save tremendous amounts of time by not having to make all the basic stuff like physics/audio/animations/shaders and even things like editors since those can be extended in Unity.
